    I love when you collide presidential history with culinary history. It’s like that old Reese’s commercial–“Two great tastes that taste great together.” The Nixon’s and the Carter’s recipes epitomize the 1970’s processed, fatty, make-it-with-whatever-you-have-in-the-pantry culinary thinking. (Although I must admit, I might try the cheese ring—who could say no to cheese and mayonnaise?

    • Haha…..hoorah indeed for cheese and mayonnaise, and the Seventies – it was a hideous period, but it had a certain dash. Probably the W. Bush and Ford recipes are the healthiest. LBJ Chili, second runner up. They are actually all delicious and the tongue of this Independent recalls the best two as being Ford and yes, Nixon.
